Auger Falls: trail, parking and access
Auger Falls is free, dog-friendly and one of the quieter stops in the Twin Falls canyon cluster, a network of trails through Auger Falls Heritage Park leading to a series of cascades along the Snake River. The parking lot is large, free and has restrooms, a step up in amenities from several other falls on this list. Our waterfalls in Idaho guide covers it with the rest of the Snake River Canyon cluster, a few miles downstream of Shoshone Falls.

Trail and access
Auger Falls Heritage Park covers about 680 acres along the floor of the Snake River Canyon, roughly 5 miles from downtown Twin Falls, with a free, large parking lot and restrooms at the trailhead. A network of trails follows the river past basalt outcrops and riparian vegetation; reaching Auger Falls itself takes about a mile from the lot, while the park's full loop trail runs closer to 4 miles for anyone who wants to see more of the canyon floor.
The park also includes a skills area for mountain biking, popular enough that the trails see a mix of hikers, runners and cyclists, worth knowing if you're expecting a quiet nature walk on a weekend.
The falls
Auger Falls is more a set of cascades and rapids than a single clean drop, with nearby Mermaid Falls visible along the same trail system a short distance away. Because the Snake River feeds it rather than a small seasonal creek, Auger Falls carries more consistent volume than several of the smaller, purely rain-dependent falls elsewhere in this guide, though like the rest of the canyon its flow still shifts somewhat with upstream irrigation demand through the growing season.
